PASMA Working at Height
Course aims
PASMA Work at Height (Novice) is the training course you need to get up to speed on the basics of height safety. Spend half a day at an approved PASMA training centre with an expert instructor and go back to work knowing:
- How to comply with your duties under the Work at Height Regulations
- What access equipment is available
- What training and guidance is available for working at height
Although it’s a PASMA course, it’s not all about mobile access towers, it covers the whole range of access equipment. There is no practical work involved in this course; it’s all classroom-based theory. No hard hats or tower climbing required!
PASMA Training certificate
A PASMA photocard and certificate will be issued to successful delegates. The certificate is valid for 5 years. Lost Photo cards can be replaced at a cost.

- Selecting appropriate access equipment
- Personal Protection Equipment
- Working on roofs
- Fragile surfaces
- Fall protection
When and where?
Courses can be arranged on request for large groups, or delegates can join a prearranged course if there are fewer numbers, get in touch to find out what courses are running. We ask all delegates to arrive at 8:00am on the course date so that the training can start on time.
Most of our training is delivered at our City Depot in Canning Town, a few minutes walk from Star Lane DLR station. The full address and contact information are available here. However training is also available at our other depots based in Croydon and Wembley, or we can delivery training at your place of work, please contact us for further details.
On-site training course requirements
We can offer this course at your place of work if it is in the London area. For this option the venue must be large enough to accommodate all of the delegates with the maximum being 12 people. The venue must also be clean, warm and dry,
Be aware that if these requirements are not met, we may be unable to offer the training course and you will be liable for the full cost.
Duration
The Working at Height PASMA training course is delivered over a 1/2 day.
How many people?
We can accommodate up to 12 people on each course.
What do I need to bring?
This is a theory based course so wear comfortable clothes, PPE is not required.
How is it assessed?
Your training instructor will give you an electronic or printed copy of the course notes that you can refer to.
On successfully completing this course, you’ll receive a PASMA Photocard and Certificate. These will show that you’re trained in category ‘W’, which stands for Work at Height (Novice).
